Weekend with dad: Day 2

Day 2 is here which means night 1 has passed. It was an interesting night. Kids got their bubble bath after dinner and we all watched Monsters University. The boys went to bed at 8:15 pm followed by the girls at 9pm. I decided to call it a night at 10pm but wanted to catch Greg Laurie’s live stream. Since it started at 7pm pst I was right on time. Got to watch
Levi Lusko conclude his message on how our family is a microphone and went promptly to bed. At 12:15am I heard Colty crying. When I went to see what was wrong I discovered he had gotten sick. Our kids have been passing some bug around and apparently it was his turn (I missed that memo). Thankfully I noticed his appetite was diminished at dinner time so I expected he would be next and equipped him with a towel, bowl, and a covered pathway from his bed to the bathroom. I got him cleaned up and his bedding in the washer and quickly got him situated in his new quarters…located next to my bed. He tossed and turned very half hour which afforded me the opportunity take multiple cat naps (in lieu of solid sleep). As a funny side note, Bode came marching in my room at 3 am looking for his brother…guess they do like each other. I got him back to bed assuring him Colty was fine and further assuring him that the sun was nowhere near coming up yet.

We made it to day break and to breakfast. Today was Mickey Mouse waffle morning. My first attempt was just flat out ugly. I decided that instead of traumatizing the kids with the earless Mickey I would eat the first one and press on. We made it out on a few errands as well. We got food…dropped our taxes off and even put gas in the Van…all without incident. Tonight is pizza night! Seemed appropriate since most of us have already had some form of illness.

Tomorrow we have a student leadership intensive meeting and we have some food to get from an organic farm. Apparently I am supposed to meet someone at the IT cross fit parking lot tomorrow named Joe. If you don’t hear from me or see me look for ‘Joe’.

Should be exciting! Love the fact that I can bless my wife and be with my kids!

Pray for the bug to be done…I am tired of seeing the metal puke bowl.
