Life Change: Taylor’s Story

Here is a story from Taylor.  She recently went on our Student Life Summer Camp trip.  She has some awesome insight…take a read for yourself.

My first step to being audacious outside of camp is sharing my story. I learned many things but there was 3 that stuck out to me. First, I learned how to be audacious, more importantly, I learned to be audacious for God! The speaker, David Rhodes provided me with many metaphors to life that helped me overcome the fear to be bold. The bible verse “Be on your guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong.” ( 1 Corinthians 16:13) helped me if I ever felt like I couldn’t do it. Secondly, I learned that Satan does anything possible to stop us from worshipping and loving God. Satan put distractions, temptations, injuries, etc. in our way to stop us. But with God, we can do anything! So we can overcome Satan to come and worship God. Thirdly, and the most important in my life, is that I learned my next step in life. There was a speaker, Chris M. (Don’t know his last name) a man raised in Kenya, who came and talked to us to about his life and about how, through Compassion, he was sponsored by a teenager. This teenager save his life by providing food and water at his table, a mattress to sleep on, and Gods love. This made me want to go into the world and see how they live, to tell others about what I know about God. I’m going to Tennessee on a missions trip that I’m an so excited for. And after that, maybe even Haiti. When God speaks to us, he can be silent, barely able to hear, and I heard him at camp! Through what Chris said, I was called to go on a missions trip.

  • I love hearing this young lady getting excited about God moving in her life. Taylor’s story is so encouraging when I know that so many are being pulled and distracted by the world around them.
