Psalms 27:1

1The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the defense of my life; Whom shall I dread?
Let’s face it, this time of year (the Christmas season) has conditioned us to put a fake smile from time to time.  You know, when you have to go to that certain family members house or endure another round of egg nog.  In all seriousness the fact is that you and I are facing things right now that want to rob us of our joy.  Some of us or probably going through some very difficult things, and even when we are suppose to be excited and happy we are not.
This devotion really re-calibrated my joy compass.  This simple scripture gives us so much to stand on.  The Lord is my light…not a situation, a person, or a material object…THE LORD IS.  WIth that said, whom shall I fear?..what situation shall I fear.  The Lord is my defense of my life, whom shall I dread?  Our Lord takes such good care of us.  He provides us with eternal joy…not in a material way…but in a way that provides us with eternal security.
What things are robbing you of joy today?  Let us remember that the Lord is our light and salvation and we have nothing to fear.
