I think the hardest thing for an American Christian to do is to be excited about Christmas presents while at the same time being excited about and remembering the Christ child. Â There is nothing wrong with liking presents or even giving them. Â Everyone likes to open up a surprise!
The point the author makes so well is that we need to remember that even though our culture has focused Christmas time surprises, we should remember that we ALREADY have our present. Â We don’t have to wait to a specific day. Â Jesus already died and rose again. Â Our gift is eternal. Â God has already blessed us.
