Wait, who’s missing?

Ephesians 1

1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God,

To the saints who are at Ephesus and who are faithful in Christ Jesus: 2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

I love the way the Bible works together.  The way God has woven all of the scriptures together has always amazed me. I have aways loved Pauls introductions.  I usually read them and get right to the meat of the message that the Holy Spirit has put on his heart.  A few days ago was different.  I began reading Ephesians and noticed something was missing.  In verse 3 Paul mentions God, and Jesus…but where is the mention of the Holy Spirit?  Take a look at  1 Cor. 1:3, 2 Cor. 1:3, Gal. 1:3, Eph. 1:3, Phil. 1:2, …they all mention God and Jesus but not the Holy Spirit.  Why?   If Paul is under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, then why is the Holy Spirit not mentioned?  Is He not part of the trinity?

Consider John 16:13-14

But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. 14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you.

According to these scriptures, He (the Holy Spirit) will not speak on His own initiative.  So Paul who was under the inspiration of the Spirit did not promote the Spirit.  So now, when I question why the Holy Spirit is not mentioned I have to consider John 16.  The Bible truly is amazing, it’s the little things like this that begin to tie things together.
