In the continuation of our Summer Tour 2012 discussion, I wanted to focus my attention to Summer Camp.  This one is personal for me.  When I was in Middle School, I was invited to a Christian Summer Camp that had a huge impact on my life.  I remember someone blessing me (financially) so that I could attend this camp.  I don’t remember the message, the theme or even the games we played. What I do remember is call of the Holy Spirit.  Although I did not accept Jesus into my heart that day, I noticed something working in my life that was way bigger than me.  This camp helped me to see that God did love me and it helped me remember the simple truth that Jesus died for me.

The Summer Camp we will be attending this summer is being put on by Student Life.  I have attended their summer camps for the past 6 years.  I have really enjoyed their attention to details and their focus on removing distractions for the students.  They do such an incredible job with their camps.  This summer’s theme is AUDACIOUS and our camp location is Wake Forest University.  Camps are mostly predictable, the students will be on a forced technology fast, in God’s Word daily and immersed in an environment that is 100% devoted to Christ.  It’s an amazing experience.  For most of our students, this becomes the benchmark in their lives when they need to gauge their spiritual health.  The bottom line is that camp changes lives…it changed mine and it will change more students lives this summer.
