Half-Marathon?

This has been an interesting running season.  We moved to North Carolina at the peak of my training for the 2011 Disney marathon.  Although I was unable to participate this year due to the fact that I just did not have the time, I have continued training…somewhat :).  Well Geoffrey has informed me that there is a Half-Marathon in March located right here in Charlotte.  I love running half marathons.  For me they are the perfect length.  The full can be very rewarding…but the time expense for training takes its toll on the family and work.  A half can be easily trained for and have traditionally (for me) been very fun to run.  Seems like beginning the half way point at mile 6 can seems a lot easier than at mile 13.

In either event I have to learn to take the ‘rolling’ landscape …HILL’s a little more seriously.  Perhaps I will get some hill workouts going.  In Florida I did some speed work but never really felt it necessary to do hill training.  Not sure if this was out of laziness…but in my defense there were no real local races with hills.

Well the race that I am doing is on March 12 (Saturday).  It is the Alston & Bird Half-Marathon.  I look forward to keeping you updated on my training.
